Hey there! Bunny welcomes you to the first article of HowToBunny in 2016! First of all, leaving everything aside, Bunny wishes you a very Happy New Year :)
As you may know,Jaimini Pathak played the character of Rajat Khanna (the boss) in TVF Pitchers, the show which India.com stated to be the "Most Popular Television Series/Mini-Series in the World as per the IMDB ratings".
Jaimini Pathak is himself the founder of Working Title,a Mumbai-based theatre group famous for productions like The Boy Who Stopped Laughing, Mahadevbhai etc. He has also acted in Bollywood films like Black and White, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi etc.We were lucky enough to have a short conversation with him and there he talks about TVF Pitchers, the show that brought a revolution to the Web-Series industry in India.
Please tell us about you getting involved in the ''TVF Pitchers'' and how all it went up during the shoots
The casting director of the show Nidhi Bisht and I have worked together in plays before. So when PITCHERS came about, she had me in mind for the role. I went over and auditioned. And the rest as they say, is history.
It was great fun to shoot with the TVF team. They are organised and methodical people while they shoot. In addition to that the superb quality of writing by Biswapati Sarkar was very well brought out by the director Amit Golani and the entire team
Does "Rajat Khanna" from the Pitchers and you in real-life share some characteristics?
I feel many characters reside inside me all the time as an actor. It's only about tapping into what suits a certain character at a given place and time.
And it's a pleasure to perform well-written scenes with a director who brings out the best in you.
Do you think the startup scenario as shown in TVF Pitcher is actually the one we have in India these days?
I'm not a techie myself. But going by the terrific response to the series, I think it has struck a chord with people across the country and the world. So people must be seeing a reflection of their aspirations and struggles in the series
As many people are saying, TVF Pitchers has set new standards for the Indian web-series industry.Do you agree?
Absolutely. It has raised the bar several notches with respect to content and treatment. Not to mention superb production values, music and performances from the entire cast
Last but not the least, are you going to be a part of Picthers's next season ?Any news about next season 2?
I'd love to be a part of Season 2. But that's for the writer and director to decide.
TVF are currently working on the second season of PERMANENT ROOMMATES. So PITCHERS 2 would happen only after that.
So that was it.Thank you Sir for answering the questions and best of luck for your upcoming works :) Would be great to see you back in Pitchers 2 if it happens :)
Thank you readers for being with us.Its for you that we are able to bring such personalities for Interviews and if you be with us,we promise to bring more public figures who may share some of their thoughts with us :) Thanks for reading.Stay tuned with Bunny ;)
